FAQ

Below are the most frequently asked questions from organizations looking into purchasing a mascot costume. Be sure to check out our list of questions to ask when ordering a mascot costume as well!

  • How much does a custom mascot costume cost?

    • There is no "one set price" for our mascot costumes. Each costume is a unique project and the final price depends on several factors (design, quantity orders, materials used, logos/accessories, etc.) A ballpark estimate for costumes is $5,500-$10,000 with most costumes falling in the $6,000-$7,500 range. We offer discounts for multiple costumes.

  • How long does it take to produce?

    • Productions time depends on our current project schedule. It can be as little as 4 weeks to as long as 10 weeks. Most costumes are produced in 6-12 weeks. When you send your deposit and confirm your order, we put your project on the production schedule and give you a delivery date.

  • What are your payment terms?

    • We require a 50% deposit to schedule your project and begin construction. The balance plus shipping costs is due prior to the costume departing the studio.

  • Do you accept credit/debit cards?

    • We do, however there is a 1.5% convenience fee.

  • Do you charge for artwork?

    • As a part of the bid process, and if you have a concept in mind, we are happy to provide you with a black and white concept sketch free of charge. If you do not have a concept and need us to develop one there is a charge ranging from $175-1,500. The fee depends on the client.

  • Is there a charge for the rights to the character?

    • If we develop a completely new character for you, the rights to the character will be included in the design fee.

  • How do you make your costumes?

    • We design our costumes to be lightweight, easy to wash, and performer friendly. Our heads have a built in street hockey helmet and chin strap. We make our heads out of a durable closed cell foam. Our bodies are lined with athletic mesh to help them last longer. Our hands detach from the body so they are easily replaceable. Our feet have an internal strapping system that allows the performer to insert his/her own shoe. There are many ways to make a mascot costume, and not all of them are safe. Please read our list of QUESTIONS TO ASK WHEN ORDERING A MASCOT COSTUME.

  • How long do your costumes last?

    • How long your costume lasts truly depends on how well you take care of it! With proper care and maintenance your costume can easily last 5-7 years or more. Costumes that are used more often (a baseball mascot that does 70+ games a year) will naturally wear out faster. High wear costume pieces like hands and feet will need to be replaced sooner. Please read our suggestions on HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR MASCOT COSTUME.

  • Can you duplicate our existing costume?

    • We certainly can! However we advise clients that there will be some slight differences when you switch costume suppliers as patterns and materials will vary. These differences will not be perceived by 99% of people. We also strive to upgrade your costume and improve on design flaws. You can see an example of a before and after of a mascot head here:
